For as long that it’s not Didi haha

March 24, 2010 at 4:20 am (Boob Tube) (, , , , , , , , , )

Yes!  For as long as it is not Didi, I don’t care that much who gets to go home in American Idol! Hehehe 🙂

But I was saddened by the departure of Lilly Scott and Alex Lambert 2 weeks ago and Lacey just last week. 😦

Lilly Scott and Alex Lambert were voted off 2 weeks ago together with Katelyn Epperly and Todrick Hall.

Lilly is like Krystal Bowersox but a more ‘indie’ artist type.  My thoughts – she was sent off because most of the viewers can’t relate to her.  I’m sure she has gained a fan base but it’s just not enough to save her.

Alex’s departure was a surprise for me (it should have been Tim!!!).  I couldn’t think of any reason.  Sayang.  He’s good.  He just needs a confidence boost.  I feel that overtime, he’ll slowly gain it.  But well, he’s done with the idol 😦

I’m not a Lacey Brown fan but I’m definitely not a Paige fan.  It should have been Paige.  I like the tone of the voice of Lacey.  Very distinct.  She reminds me so much of the vocalist of Sixpence None the Richer but with a little more distinct voice.  I thought she’ll be saved.  Oh well.

Anyway, again, for as long that it is not Didi… I’m fine.  Woot woot!  Didi’s doing just great now… I hope she wins! 🙂

Plain Alice

March 23, 2010 at 4:35 am (Movies) (, , )

Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland didn’t impress!  It fell short, very short, of my expectation.  Visual effects – outstanding. Storyline – from interesting to shallow, boring and predictable.  But the casts were all good, especially Helena Bonham Carter (as always). Sayang!

Gwyneth Paltrow dead ringer!

Hosting job boo-boos

March 22, 2010 at 12:31 pm (Events) (, , , , , , , , )

Attended this Sales and Marketing seminar last week.  Encountered several Boo Boo incidents of the hosts and one speaker. Just thought of sharing hehe…

Boo Boo 1:

This DJ host had a major boo-boo!  Obviously, she didn’t look at the program of the event and didn’t care to look at the profiles of the speakers.

DJ Host:  Sino ang may FB sa inyo.. taas ang kamay.  E sinong may (name of competitive site)?  Teka, may (name of competitive site) pa ba?

Apparently, one of the host is the Marketing Head of that social networking site!

BOO!!!

Boo Boo 2:

The 2 hosts talking about cars.  Girl host asked the guy host what type of car would he be?  The guy responded and proceeded to ask the girl host.  The girl host then answered ‘Jaguar coz I’m sexy.’  The guy then said ‘Kia ka lang!’

KIA KA LANG?  Wow ano kaya masasabi ng Brand Manager ng Kia and what if nandun sya…

Boo Boo 3:

One speaker mentioned he recently resigned from this used-to-be popular social networking site (last week).  He then proceeded with his topic…. and what have you, he used his competitive site as an example (saying he resigned anyway) and on his last slide, he provided his username from his competitive site.

BOO!

In my book, that’s what you call bitter, hypocrite and not loyal.  Tsk tsk…
